New Caledonia is an iconic granite choice in the world of granite. The mix of multiple colors helped bring out the colors of multiple colors of cabinets. More or less, this is the "Universal Stone" when trying to either bring contrast to kitchens or simply bringing a melody of similar colors.
Name: New Caledonia
So where does the name New Caledonia come from? New Caledonia is a French Territory of multiple islands in the South Pacific. But that is the name of the region and the stone usually comes from Brazil, not France. So why the name. Well maybe because it sounds cool. The name usually can differ from those who supply the stone (for example, some may call this stone Café Brown while some may call it Café Imperial, the theme being that the stone has that charcoal, brownish look to it).

Stone Grouping: Level 2
With VF Granite, we group stones by Levels. The levels consists of similar attributes within granite stones. New Caledonia fits Level 2 since its colors and patterns are stable, meaning that each bundle will have similar characteristics. Grayish tones with some brown. Some bundles can be lighter while some can be darker but the pattern will always be similar. The stones may display very minor fissures or "small cracks" which are not visible unless you are trying really hard to find them, but even if you try, the human eye may not detect them. The stones in this group tend to be very durable.
